The acronym “OP” on Twitch means “overpowered”. Typically though the phrase is saved until the end of a match where those who played in the match want to tell their opponent that the match was well played. For example, a streamer may say, “If he turns left it’s GGs”. However, in recent years people have begun to use the phrase when a match will soon be over. It is used as an act of sportsmanship after a match ends. On both Twitch, and in gaming, “GG” or “GGs” just means “Good Game”. ![]() Using the letter ‘F’ in Twitch chat to pay respects is used more as a joke for when a streamer takes a massive loss. You can check out the famous scene in the short video below. This phrase, and pressing the letter ‘F’ key to pay respects, come from Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare where users could press the ‘F’ key to pay respects to a fallen soldier in the game. The letter ‘F’ in chat is often accompanied by the phrase, “Pay respects in chat” which means that users should spam the letter ‘F’ in chat to pay respects for the massive failure that was just witnessed on stream. For example, if a streamer gets to the last boss of a game, and then loses and has to start over, the streamer may say “F” while viewers spam the letter ‘F’ in chat. It is often used when something goes wrong on stream. ![]() ![]() The letter ‘F’ on Twitch is slang for the words fail, failed, failing, or failure. For example, if a streamer wins a match, the streamer may say, “W” while their chat may also spam the letter ‘W’ to celebrate with them. It can also be used to celebrate something good that happens on stream. Sadge letter ‘W’ on Twitch is slang for the words win, won, or winning. Twitter user XqcOutofcontext replied to his tweet with a video (seen below) and the caption, “Sadge.” On May 31st, 2020, Twitch streamer xQc posted an update to his Twitter account, which received several replies from various users referencing the Sadge emote. YouTuber Kian22 uploaded a video featuring the emote to his channel on April 30th, 2020, under the title, “Everywhere I Go I'm Reminded Sadge.” The clip (shown below) received nearly 700 views. On May 11th, 2020, Redditor SnoopyPilot posted another meme using Sadge to the r/forsen sub (seen below), receiving nearly 700 upvotes. On March 15th, 2020, Redditor Cerms posted a meme depicting Sadge to the r/forsen sub under the title, “No cocks left, only Poglights…” The meme (shown below) received over 1,100 upvotes. Redditor IsrengBelemy then added it to the r/copypasta sub on March 10th, 2020. It appears to me that there isn’t any cock left.” The post received over 1,300 upvotes and 27 comments. On February 29th, 2020, Redditor mini-tbnn posted an image to the r/forsen subreddit depicting the use of the copypasta on Twitch (shown below), which reads, “My dearest brother, I write to you in deep melancholy. In early to mid-2020, the emote saw increased usage on Twitch as it was added to additional channels, particularly by AdmiralBulldog’s and Forsen’s communities. On FrankerFaceZ, the Sadge emote was added on January 14th, 2020, by user vicneeel and is used in 2,405 sets. According to BetterTTV’s stats, the emote is used in 943 different channels. On Twitch, the emote (seen below) was submitted to BetterTTV by user Redshell on January 3rd, 2020. This specific version of Pepe is an edit of Feels Bad Man / Sad Frog that first appeared in a 4chan thread on January 22nd, 2009. The image used for the emote is a variant of Pepe the Frog, which dates back to 2005.
